Silky Oak Barrell
Hi all woodworkers out there. I operate a small tree removal business in Sydney and have to dismantle a large Silky oak with a straight 8-10m trunk approx 600mm in diameter. I understand Silky Oak is a sought after timber in woodwork and was curious to know if timber yards or hobbyists would be interested in taking this timber for their uses? The removal is taking place with the use of a 30T crane and therefore large sections can be removed in order to keep the barrel in one piece.
Not sure if this is something that is sought after simply because of the logistics of moving a such a large log i.e the need for a hiring a log truck.
Any suggestions or advice welcomed...thanks for you time.
