Solomons Ebony timber sources?
Hi, I would like to get some black Solomon "Queen" ebony timber or similar very dark timber. Or even veneer
Can anyone please suggest where I might be able to buy some here in Oz?regards,

try billinudgelwoodworks as at the sydney woodshow he had queen eboney in guitar fret board size for a reasonable price. cheers WC

Thanks everyone. I contacted Brian at Sitco, and got three boards dressed 600 x 100 x 12 for $15 each, from memory. Posted already via Aus Post after I did a Bank Transfer.
How is that for a great forum and great customer service.
Found out that this Queen ebony is more dark brown, but oxidises over time to mostly black. Also found out it is the 2nd hardest timber in the worldregards,

I think there was a stall at the last Melbourne Woodwork Show that was selling black timber - that seemed to be all that they sold - may be worth looking at list of suppliers..
I've found a letter in my show goodies from a company called Sitco and they are promoting this timber
