Where to source Jarrah in Victoria
Hi Folks,
Just wondering if anyone has sourced any jarrah boards recently and what they paid? Looking for an idea for costing a bench top 2000 x 1100 x 33. So boards might be 150-200 wide.
I am aware of places like Mathews etc, just wondering if anyone has actually purchased any lately and what they paid.
Rough sawn or dressed, either fine.
Thanks.

Urban Salvage in Spotswood have some listed on their web-site Urban Salvage - Recycled Timber Flooring, Decking, Furniture Board, Wood, Melbourne
I bought some Jarrah about 3 years ago and some Blackbutt 18 months or so ago. I don't remember prices. Their web-site does not list prices but a phone call will get that info.
No affiliation - just a satisfied customer as they were most helpful.
Sims in Ballarat might be worth a try also.Last edited by Chesand; 29th March 2020 at 02:38 PM. Reason: Added a bit extra

WR Timber in Kilsyth have Jarrah in their website species list, can't say what they have in stock, or what the price might be. Have dealt with them in the past, and referred others there way and they have been happy with service and product.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

Ring up a timber yard in Perth and get a price, back loading out of Perth is usually a pretty good price as a rule.

It is easier to see things on a benchtop if you use a lighter colour timber.

Thanks very much to everyone who made suggestions. I just spoke to Urban Salvage who currently have 135 x 32 @ $27 l/m, which is considerably better than some online prices I saw elsewhere. They said they don't often have it on hand.
Bye for now and thanks again.
