Surely one stick is suitable for a plank, after all it is on the dock.

nearly 60 years of acquiring tools and equipment some of it my recently departed Dad only to find this p%$&# stealing it to swap to some drug peddler.

God give me strength or my next post might be at the governors discretion .
Sounds like he needs beating with one of those sticks Barnesy. I had a similar thing happen about 2 years ago, I had started to rebuild my collection of tools some of which were not cheap ones, when we had a new neighbour move in. I had been there for 5 years without a problem at the time, any how I had left the back shed unlocked for a few days as I wasn't far from home at any stage. found out that the bastard had jumped the fence late one night to fund his drug habit. Unfortunately I couldn't prove anything and his missus at the time kicked him out shortly after this happened, heaven forbid I run into him in a dark alley somewhere. despite knowing where they had gone I didn't get any back despite the fact that a lot of them were engraved with my name and phone number. I lost routers, drills, dremel tools, and various other stuff including some rather expensive hand tools, all up probably worth a few grand and they were probably swapped for a few hundred dollars worth of drugs that the scumbag probably blew up in smoke over a matter of a few days.
I am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.

Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.

    Default Ahhhhhhh.....

The saga continues!! Turns out that it wasn't our oregon at all - close but no cigar. Would still appreciate ears to the ground and I guess that redwood slab or $1000 is back on the reward list. Thanks to all for the interest shown so far, but please don't forget about it next time you see a dirty big pile of silver coated oregon.

    Cheers All,

    Craig.

Jeez - how many piles of silver coated oregon are there in the country at one time .

How will I know if it's yours if I come across it - could be any one of thousands .

Call me a skeptic but seems there's a fishy smell down by the docks .

I dropped in to see Craig this morning as his timber yard is only
    five minutes from my home.

Whilst I did not purchase any timber it was worth the short trip
just to hear of his close call during the "Black Saturday" fires.
Taking refuge in a drain pipe, accompanied by snakes, running
short of oxygen and having a kangaroo die at the entrance of
the drain would have been a close call.

He is obviously having a hard time with neighbours wanting him
to remove his logs and mulch heaps, local Council involvement,
and now the loss of the timber is more trouble than he deserves.

Hope you locate the culprit/s Craig.

Was the stuff at the docks stolen timber and will there be a court case about it?
    Commiserations,
    Jim
