This morning I did a quick and dirty MC survey of some pieces of wood inside the shed that I remembered when they were milled.
All measurements were done on existing exposed end grain ie no cuts were made.
While the results are dependent on the vagaries of a cheap MC meter, the different type of wood etc but otherwise are surprisingly consistent
The Milled collumn shows when how long ago they were milled Y= years, M = months, and W = weeks

the Pistachio boards were surprising but it shows that even in winter wood will still dry despite the higher humidity etc.
The WA RG is one of my work benches and is coated with 3 coats of 2 pack Polyurethane although there would now be a few holes in the coating.
The TAS Oak is a commercial pieced of timber so presumably was originally kiln dried.
