    Default Suppliers Hastings/Port Macquarie

Anyone got any recommendations for a furniture timber supplier in the Hastings area?

I've heard there are some but the ones I've come across are mainly flooring and building suppliers or bunnings...

    Cheers,
    Boz

Boutique Timber at Telegraph Point might be a good place to start what are you looking for?

Mal has slabs, boards of all types of hardwoods. I bought some nice seasoned Red Mahogany from him a while ago, haven't used it for it's intended purpose yet though....

Sounds interesting. A few people have mentioned that supplier. I'll have to check it out. The only problem is that I have limited resawing and dressing machines.

    Boz,

You should consider joining the woodworking club in Wauchope, whereabouts are you? I'm a member there and could introduce you if you like.

    Any idea on pre-veneared boards?

Timbertown just west of Wauchope had timber merchants in the theme park.

No they tend to deal in solid timber. What kind of veneer are you after in what sizes?

Yeah, I tried to get that log laying around outside but decided it would exceed my baggage allowance.

Saw some cedar boards for sale in a bazaar around £1800 each.

I've thought about that too but not sure the ute would drag it back home and scrubbing out the word "Timbertown" on the side would take a good couple of weeks of chopping, to avoid detection.

try Mc Gee's builders wholesalers in Kempsey. They used to have all kinds of preveneered boards, eg Jarrah, teak. But It is now under new management so I'm not sure.

They were really cheap too, for example I bought some yellow tongue flooring from them for $23 for 3.6m x 900mm x 19mm, The big B charges $36.
Give em a ring it won't hurt.
Usual disclaimer, no connections with them other than as a customer.
    Cheers
