    Default SYDNEY GOLDEN WATTLE [LONGIFOLIA]

Is there any good uses for this "weed"?I say that because we have a big infestation of some massive trees that need to be eradicated as it is taking over the native forest ,what stated as one tree has turned into thousands [a lot of those thousands are only small and can be pulled up by hand] but the big ones are BIG ,or is just bulldoze and burn. What is it like for fire wood?, I have read that it may be good for tool handles ,what tools I don`t know.

How big is big? It is described as a shrub or small tree in my references.

maybe take a bit to your local mens shed and turn it and on another bit split it with the bandsaw and then dress it smooth to show what the wood is like. i am always interested in having a look at different woods. Cheers WC

Some of the large ones are at least 5mt tall ,up to 10 mt width [they seem to spread out rather than grow tall] ,and the base trunk 400mm thick

Worth cutting some up to see, I haven't found an acacia that size that wasn't good for woodturning

    Tool handles
Maybe it would be good for my out of the box saw handles.
Bit of novice when it comes to knowing my timber types.
    What's the grain like.

That red acacia timber from the car I picked up in Mt Gambia that I showed you is apparently Golden Wattle
