Thick Wood
Hi. I need to find boards of various wood types that are at least between 1.5 and 2" thick, and at least 6 inches wide. Can't find this at the local Home Depot. Should a local lumber place have this?

Yup a lumber yard will probably have these sizes tho they may not sell direct to the public - some do, some don't. I buy all my lumber direct from lumber yards, the prices are usually at least half to 1/3 of what you'll pay in a retail outlet.
