    Default Thrilled over purchase

I've been looking for some red bloodwood for yonks and the only source seemed to be Qld way. Then there was this little slab at the WWW show. I sliced some of it today and it's just what I wanted.
it is very much like Sydney Blue Gum only more red and it has that characteristic sour smell like Spotted Gum (same family they say now).

It's so good to be able to say something pleasant when lots of other things go the other way.

Amazingly red! Please don't mention phones. telstra is replacing my 3 day old phone this week. I think I must have bad electrons on my skin 'cause all electrical stuff is playing up - even new. Thank goodness for warranties. But they don't do a GMC and give you a new tool these days........except for good ol' telstra.
Hope the phone is OK. It wasn't good enough for the young 'un.

CP, I picked up a small chunk of red blood wood from the TWWW show, from Stan's stall (I think he was the only one that had any there this year). My boy says it is his favourite wood since last year's show when Stan cut him a shingle from a log of it. So this year I bought a bit that I have this idea of turning it into a smoothing plane for the boy. Of course, I've never made a plane before, so this might be ambitious, but I'll have a practice on the chunk of tassie Myrtle that I bought for me first, so that I get his right.

    Never give up.
