Out of bloody grade due to slope of grain, that's what it is.
You make me feel guilty sometimes about what I've thrown away over the years MM.

Colour rendition
How true to life is the screen rendition of colour Mapleman? It certainly is an intense red on screen - you'd swear it was a rosewood of some sort alright.

Me like the wavey grain and fiddleback. would make some nice inlay pieces or boxes or turned items.

It's true to life timboz...how you see it is how it is,a rich red color, not unlike Rosewood ...seemed to dress well too even though the blades are starting to lose their edge...incidentlly,all pieces in this thread from the same 'head' log, salvaged from an old paddock tree that was harvested by loggers a few years ago. They only took Butt log to the first branch and left the rest behind, which was quite a bit ...and that was only 1 tree out of many...Forest Red Gum can be stunning at times..MM
