Default Timber ID - Diffuse porous tropical Hardwood

I found this at my local high school. They closed there wood workshop moving to virtual classrooms . So they were just throwing good timber in the skip. The board is 400 mm wide by 2400 mm long and 32mm thick. Its cupped and checked on the ends however it has still huge amounts of good timber in it.

I figure its some kind of Diffuse porous tropical Hardwood, south east Asian most likely. Its very coarse grained, medium to soft but it planes easily to golden shine. Reminds me of QLD Maple, just more course grained.

    I am thinking Meranti.

The smell is just woody, no other scents detected. Here are some photos. Anyone have any ideas.

That would be great, because I love Durian the fruit. However my reading says Durian wood smells offensive like the fruit. But this wood has no onion, pig , almond garnished with gym sock smell.

The timber is more likely Meranti as schools usually get radiata pine and pacific maple for projects.
