Timber identification
Any help with identifying this timber, it's heavy, very heavy and hard, very hard, it's a desert timber of sorts, I know that much. First thoughts possibly Mulga?

The yellow sapwood is another characteristic of Mulga.

I made this box about a year ago now from a piece of Mulga. The tree had fallen across a track that runs along the eastern side of the Mt Manning range here in West Australia. I had a little ozito battery chainsaw with me so I decided to cut it off the track. It wasn't until I'd done the first cut that the beauty of the timber was revealed that I decided to bring some of it home.
