    Question What am I?

    I was told this was white mahogany but I don't think it is. I got it any way cause it's beautiful. I'm going to turn it on the lathe and make a bowl or something similar. But I would love to know what it is incase someone buys it off of me.

    looks like himilayan cedar but then again it usually has bark like a pine so i am not too sure. Cheers WC

    Thanks mate, I'm having a real hard time sorting it out and the cedar is the closest so far except it's more of a brown heart wood and what I have here is a purple red colour….. This is a real doozey

    Default Hard

    I've just started turning it on the lathe and the darker inner heartwood is like cutting rock. I've just finished making a bowl from an ironbark burl and it had nothing on how hard this thing is……..
