New Timber: "Karrah" for auction
just dragged this of a web site
"HANDYMAN TIMBER PACKS: In Pine, Karrah, Western Red Cedar. PLUS: Skirting, Scotia, Architraving, Barge Board, 90x90 125x125 posts. TILES: Marble and Granite 400x400, 600x600, Porcelain 600x600, Stone Face Panels, Crazy Paving, 50x pallets of remnant Floor, Wall, Bathroom Tiles 100x100, 200x200, 300x300.
Either they have done some very clever breeding to produce a timber as nice to work as Jarrah and the growth rates and lovely straight tall stature of karri or ...
they have a timber that's slower growing, difficult to get a long straight bit that's bloomin difficult to work  ....
either way must be a collectors item ... better go to the auction.Ramps

I didn't want to get you in trouble I thought you weren't going to the WW show next w/e cos of your CC's been grounded

WOW looks like they have some thunbnails up on the web site now ... is that a "keep dry" sign I can see on the side of that pack of wet wood:eek:
Next w/e ... same as the ww show ... if you're going I'm very interested in getting some WRC ... just a bit to add to the redbird ... I must get a few shots up of the progress mustn't I.
also if you're feeling that way inclined there's another FPC auction at Harvey on September 23

Some slabs and some table packs of Jarrah, Marri and sheoak ... looks like not quite as much as last timeRamps

Is it true what I've heard? That this Karrah is to be crossed with European Oak to generate "Karrah-Oaky" for specific use in Japanese bars?

mm Karrah, looks like a misspelling or someone uses the wrong pronunciation, as its listed with generic type woods like pine and WRC maybe its just karri or kauri..or they just mispelled Jarrah....
