The timber was sourced from <st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Melbourne</st1></st1:city>'s parks and gardens, local and rural councils, private gardens, arboretums and fruit farmers. <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1>Australia</st1></st1:country-region> boasts a surprising array of species of trees introduced by early European immigrants.
I no longer mill any timber, but I am interested in purchasing any of the hardwood species traditionally used in British vernacular furniture. I am especially keen on locating some Cherry and Walnut for making a piece of furniture for each of my children who both have landmark birthdays coming up soon, but my 'want list' includes any/all of the following:
Garden timbers
Apple
Damson
Mulberry
Nectarine
Peach
Pear
Plum
Quince
Walnut
<st1><st1:city w:st="on">Woodland</st1:city></st1> timbers
Ash
Elm
Oak
Walnut
Yew (not technically a hardwood)
<o></o>
I don't expect to locate all these timbers immediately (which is just as well as storage would be a problem), but please bear me in mind if you do come across any of these species..
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

I have a lot of Elm cut to many sizes slabs and sawn timber. I like it so I made my kitchen from it, a friend saw it and he made his kitchen from Elm aswell.

I've got two tiny slabs of quarter cut Mulberry:
19mm thick, 38mm wide and 380mm long
19mm thick, 48mm wide and 360mm long
Might be good for repair work or
something very small

Thanks for the offer, but those pieces are too small for my use, but would probably suit someone for repair work as you say, or pen blanks etc. Thanks anyway!

No worries, was a little embarrassing to offer it to be honest, just a thought after seeing some of your workmanship that it may come in handy for you. I'm not sure how easy it is to get in Australia, so that's why I offered. I bought mine from Chris Vesper (Forum Member) about two years ago, he may have some left.
Good luck on your hunt
