Timber suppliers near the QLD-NSW border?
Anyone know of timber suppliers near the Queensland and new south wales border around here? http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&s...,1.235962&z=10
I'm after rough sawn timber for furniture making as well as slab timber.
The main one I know of is mullumbimby woodworks, but it's over a 2 hour drive.

Paulowina is another, but I'm after somewhere with a selection of species of rough sawn and slabs.

G'day Greg,
Know of a bloke around Rosebank who you might like but would need to lead you in there. Been a while since I was there. PM me if you want to take it further.

Stan Ceglinski is a bit closer than Mullum and Timberall is at Chinderah,
There is also a guy that does slabs at Stoker's Siding.
For Mullum to be 2hrs away you must be on north side of Brisvegas, Wiessyboy is up that way if you want a closer supplier (and probably cheaper).

There's a bloke between Tyalgum and Limpinwood who has Australian Teak Slabs can't seem to find his contact details ATM, there is also a bloke near there that has rosewood, camphor and other slabs, can get his details if you wish (at least I think he is near there).

Thanks anyway, but tyalgum and limpinwood are also 2 plus hours away. Just looked at a map again and the closest NSW town to the area I can access get to via the mount lindsay highway is Woodenbong, about 45 minutes down the road into NSW.
So somewhere in the general vacinity of woodenbong would be tops
I suspect I'm not going to have much luck
Cheers

Timber supplies
Hi Greg,
I know paulownia is a special timber and not for all purposes. Anyway if you did need some I am carefull to meet customer requirments and can freight it to you with IPEC for $23.00 + 70 cents per kg (actual cost to me) + $11.00 per pack up to approx.25 kg for parcel packing and delivery to a pickup point in Murwillumbah. Depending on what you needed it would be cheaper and quicker than driving to Tyalgim.

Hi, If you are looking for rough sawn timbers we could probably help. Can cut to order spotted gum, ironbark (red or grey), forest red gum, yellow stringy, box, grey gum, red mahogany, tulip oak, crows ash etc.
