    Default Help Identifying this timber

    Hi,
I was hoping someone might be able to identify this timber for me.
I came from my father inlaws collection, and i would like to use some for a guitar build.
    Regards
    Geoff

It certainly looks like one of the Sheoaks, maybe Lace Sheoak.

Some photos of freshly sawn, sanded with a splash of water to pop the grain with go along way to help identifying it, bit hard to see the grain as it with the oxidised surface.
    Cheers

Yes it has a lace grain, typical of sheoaks, but also beefwood and a heap of others, so not really sure. Clean it up, sand it down, add some oil then take another photo. I'm sure whatever it is it will probably be nice
