Help Identifying this timber
Hi,
I was hoping someone might be able to identify this timber for me.
I came from my father inlaws collection, and i would like to use some for a guitar build.
Regards
Geoff

It certainly looks like one of the Sheoaks, maybe Lace Sheoak.
Some photos of freshly sawn, sanded with a splash of water to pop the grain with go along way to help identifying it, bit hard to see the grain as it with the oxidised surface.Cheers

Yes it has a lace grain, typical of sheoaks, but also beefwood and a heap of others, so not really sure. Clean it up, sand it down, add some oil then take another photo. I'm sure whatever it is it will probably be nice
