    Default Timeber Identification, told its Cypruss not sure I don't recognise it.

    Hey G'day Folks,

    Got this nice small slab for my birthday today, told its cypruss I'm not sure. Spayed a bit of water on it looks mickey mouse.

    Added a couple more pics one no burl and the end grain if that helps.

    Certainly doesn’t look like Cypress, I wonder if it’s Elm?

    Well it has no distinctive smell, woody at best its not freshly cut. Would hazzard a guess at who old it is.

    I think you would be close to the mark, I've been scouring google images for hours looking at various burls and it looks very close to what Elm looks like. But I stand to be corrected.
