    Default Tree Identification please

Hi all, I am new to the game but have been reading your posts for some time with interest. This is the second tree I have milled and would like to confirm the species. I was convinced it was Blackbutt but others have suggested Yellow stringy or Tallowood. Opinions please. Pics attached

    Default Tree I.D

    Hi Mongo,
That is definitely a tallowwood. Blackbutt has a fibrous bark on the trunk and for around half the branch length but the branch ends have a smooth powdery white bark. Yellow stringy and tallowwood can be a little tricky to split but tallowwood will always have 'volcanoes' somewhere on the bark. You can see them clearly on the top right hand corner of the trunk shown in your j.peg 6 image. In addition, as you said you milled it, tallowwood is the only (?) eucalypt whose timber does not have gum veins. Hope this helps.
    Regards Tim

I'd say Tallow. The timber is slightly greasy and is very consistent in colour throughout the tree.
