Umbrella tree timber?
I have had a request for information, regarding a fallen umbrella tree schefflera actinphylla.
Is the timber suitable for woodworking?
Cheers Barry

The centre of the tree collapses, heaps of moisture, so you end up with a hole down the middle and the remainder warps. It is a light cream coloured boring timber, very fibrous and a pain to turn/finish, but the outer timber would probably be fine for filler timber. I had a big one I cut into blanks for spinning tops etc, but ended up throwing it all out.
