    Default unknown wood.

Greetings Chaps. I seem to detect changes in the Forum I have been out od it since August last year. But any way I have acquired some timber I intend to use as stems for some Aladdin Kero lamps. I thought at first it was Ash but have been told not so. It is very dense ie heavy and I was curios as to what it might be. It is of no moment what it actually is because I suspect it will be eminently suitable for the intended purpose. It originally was a plank about 8 inches wide by 2 1/2 thick and 12 feet long. It was used as a wooden platform. Hope you can help 4-6-4

Do you have a pic which may assist in identification?
