    Default URGENT HELP! Timber Floors

    Need help!!
    Our floors are being sanded and not all the stain marks are going. Now someone told me that bleaching the wood would lift the stains. Is this true?...How do I do it?..does it damage the floors?.

    Also the floors are going to be stained Dark chocolate brown, now the floor people have filled up the nail holes already with a light filler, is this ok?...will it blend in once the floors are stained?

    I will let someone more knowledgeable answer the technical aspects but since you say it is urgent you need to make your concerns known the the finishers before they do something that is difficult to remedy

    Bleaching will make the light parts lighter and the darker bits... Well lighter too, but not the same.
    Going with the dark stain will cover all sins.
    A stained floor especially a dark colour fails to impress me. Always looks not quite right. And usually blotchy if the timber is not raw and clean, the putty in the nail holes will absorb the stain too.

    Hope your paying them well and not some cheap fly-by-nighter... As your tradies must be relied on to meet your expectations.
