Veneer Prices
Ok,
We have a bit of project to do in store but as we normally use solid timber my pricing is a bit raw on veneers.
I have some quotes on veneers but would like to know what others have paid in the past. Or what you would pay.
As I've not anything to compare it too...
American White Oak $?
Wenge $?
Figured Sycamore $?
Walnut Burr $?
Quilted Bubinga $?
Prices are per m2 and we're talking quite a few m2 too
Any help however obscure will be helpful.
Thanks to all.
Steven

Dingo, I would like to know the name of the guy you deal with in the US too. I've been looking at getting some off ebay, but concerned I may be in for a big dissappointment. I wouldnt mind hearing what you got and what you paid for freight. Any tips on buying would be good.
Why not just post the answer here, I am sure others would be interested.
thanks

Okay on ebay Brian uses brkgas
Im pretty sure he will have no probs with a whole mob of Aussies contacting him.. but as has been sad first your postage is heavy second it takes up to 5 weeks to get here and you do get a shyteload but I will email him first before posting anything else
Presently he has can be viewed: here
remember he bein in the US its all in feet inches an pounds I cant do the coversions never learnt and never needed to but needless to say you get a shyteload for your dollar... one thing when I started looking to buy from ebay was to check if they will sent to Aus then check how much this bloke was the best
one example?
lot 2191 Exotic Figured Mozambique Veneer 91 sq ft
22 pcs. 87" long (2.2mtrs} by 5" (12cm} wide in sequence. Overall length is 92". (2.34 mtrs}
3 pcs. 78" (1.98mtrs} long by 5" wide in sequence.
4 pcs. 82" (2.08mtrs}long by 6 1/4" (16cm} wide in sequence. Approx. thickness is 1/50"
Presently $35US ($44.66AUD}
another wider example...
Lot #2268 Walnut Burl Veneer
12 Pcs. 5 1/2" long by 45" (1.1mtr} wide in sequence.
presently $24US (30.63AUD}
and just one more for the team
lot #2263 Nice Wide Birdseye Maple Veneer 51 sq ft
9 pcs. 26" (66cm} long by 18" (46cm} wide in sequence.
7 pcs. 26" long by 18" wide in sequence. These pieces match the first 9
$35.00US ($44.66AUD}
Kitchen cupboards anyone?
Anyway as said you get a shyteload {he does add stuff to the package) will look for any particular sort of veneer you might want {note I mentioned that I wouldnt mind some redwood and 4 large peices {approx 2ft x 4ft octoganal shaped) came in the last lot } and he is happy to go private and combine shipping costs to a certain level... will email him and see how we get on
Cheers
Shane
Note: I have no interest in Brians business and offer this solely to help other woodnuts here at ubeaut... if you can source the quanities and prices here in Aus then go for broke and please pass on the info cause I for one couldntBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!!
