    Question Victorian Ash supplier recommendations?

    Hi all,

Have started planning a new improved workbench based on the design in the Jan 2004 issue of American Woodworker and have Ash as the material of choice for the laminated bench top.

I've found one bunch named Black Forest Timbers who supply but am yet to receive back any reply from my e-mail enquiry. I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for other businesses who can supply Ash. Dimensions would be around 65 x 38 millimetres.

    Thanks.

    Paul.
I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory...

Paul, most Bunnings down here in Mehico carry 65x32 Vic ash, supplied by Gunns timber.

You may be able to contact Gunns to get a few local stockists.

Trend Timber as pretty good, but its a bit of a drive from the 'Gong Better pack a picnic lunch & a water bag. Or get them to deliver.

Another source would be Anagote Timber in Marrickville - about 2-3 hours closer, at least the way traffic is up this way
