Shippers, sorry but these photos are virtually usesless. Take the wood outside in the middle of the day and take photos of the end grains as well as the long grain and post the pics at maximum size 800x 600.

    Cheers

Umm Bob, they are at 800 x 600. Did you click on the pictures to open it in a new page.

Anyway the first one has a hint of Jarrah about it, could be Grey Ironbark as well
    Cheers

Thanks DJ - I only opened the ones in the first post and they were 640 x 480.
I just opened the second ones and the first of those pics does look like karri but it's the end grain that will determine it more certainly over jarrah.

    Hi Shippers,
We sell mountains of Karri if your anywhere near Coburg bring a piece in to the store and we can determine if it is or isnt. We are at 148 Gaffney St.

    Cheers

    Thumbs up Has Been Identified

Hey guys thanks for your time.
The lighter greying piece, i have been informed is very old ironbark.
Now as a consequence i am getting it milled by a guy in Nth Melbourne.
He didnt baulk at it so i think he's the man for the job.
    Again thanks for the time

This is just a incidental bit of info but I have made a few items where the wood is not known. Listed as gum. If it looks ok and works use it.

    Regards
    John
