Walnut strange dark areas
Hi,
I just got a walnut desk top made by a local wood worker. He did a great job and I'm happy with the outcome. But I noticed two dark spots (areas) on one of the board. They look like a brush stroke. The wood worker told me it's was natural; part of the wood naturally.
So I would like to get more opinions about it. First picture is the complete top (You can see the two spots I'm talking about). Second and third pictures are a zoom of the two spots.
Please let me know. Thank you in advance for you expertise.

Totally natural.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

From a distance they looked like they could be brush strokes, but up close I'd say they were natural.
If they crossed the join of two bits of timber they'd have to be a brush. As they go right to the edge it would either be something done to the individual boards (dunno what, but not a finish as that's done after gluing...), or a natural feature. Up close it also shows how well the marks follow the grain of the wood.
Cheers,
Dave...but together with the coffee civility flowed back into him

I am so in lust with Walnut. Love the grain, the dark spots are highlights for me. Wot everyone else said, highlights in the pron.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback.
I guess it's "natural" feature after all
Hopefully the varnish won't amplify those spots.
Again, thanks for time. Really appreciated.
