Agreed - you would think the story/history behind the tree would at least give it some 'souvenir' value if nothing else

Can you imagine what cutlural value a large nice table would have crafted from this tree?

How hard would it be to get the poor thing slabbed to be able to make something from it which could last another 100+ years.

I just don't know sometimes...
