    Default Old weatherboards

    Hi all,

Just wondering if there is anyone out there that knows where I could find old weatherboards, or new in the same style as old ones... confused?

Basically I recently purchased a 1938 weatherboard house, It is currently clad in some horrendous aluminium cladding which is in the process of being removed

I have salvaged and reused as much of the weatherboard from the back of the house, where we have put in some large glass doors, but require some more to patch up some of the damage boards we have uncovered and fill a hole left by the removal of another window.

Any suggestions to source matching weather boards or where I could go to get them made to spec would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Have you tried any building salvage/recycling centres?

My local timberyard sells the 165mm (rounded edge or square) baltic pine weatherboards in the standard length ranging from 3.6 to 6.0 metres.

Try a good timberyard in your area.

I had the same problem a couple of years back. The round edge profile was less round  than the modern round edge. I only needed a few so I bought the square profile instead and ran a profile on it with the router. Quick and easy.
