    Default Western Qld Timber Supplier

I went up to visit Rocker today and decided to call in on George McNab (Wood Cutter on this forum) of McNab Slabs and Craftwood at 180A Meldale Road, Meldale Qld (approx 0.5hr north of Brisbane). Great bloke with great prices, give him a call on 0417 147 026 to call in and visit.

No association, just another supplier to add to my list, I'll certainly be going back.

I scored logs of Gidgee (huge), Lancewood, Vinewood and Mulga (a few of each ). He also had heaps of Hairy Oak, Beefwood, Wilga, Mango, Bansia that I resisted, I had already got some at the Melany show . He unfortunately had run out of that beautiful Western Qld Rosewood I had also scored previously, but was getting more in.

    Cheers
    Neil

I thought he who dies with the most tools wins, has it been changed to timber?

    Hi Neil,

Did he happen to mention when he's getting more inland rosewood? I'm starting to see what you mean about it being a beautiful timber and alas, only got a small piece at Maleny so I'm keen for more. Bloody addiction...

What sort of sizes of vinewood did you manage to get from him? Dusty stuff but very nice when polished up...

He said he goes west usually in June/July, probably to coincide with the cooler weather. He also said he was trying to save some more of those rosewood fenceposts from the fireplace, can only hope he is successful. I too only scored a single piece. Hopefully he will reply to this post with some details.

I only scored one Vinetree log around 150-200mm dia 1.2m long. He only had one other log but I was out of money.
