    Default That Stuff ??.

    Hi Tony,
When you do get this wood, be very careful, as you will need FULL Breathing Protection.
Many years ago, a friend was using this stuff, & he ended up in Hospital for 3 weeks, but they almost lost him on the 2nd. day. He of course recovered, but it affected him for quite some time afterwards.
Being a Turner I will not touch the stuff.
    Regards,
    issatree.

Depends on how you use it.

Many years ago I spent 3 years in backyard operation making WRC covers for spa pools. never used safety gear and never had a problem,
used to carry wool bales of WRC sawdust for home garden and it loved the stuff.... smails didn't though. Just saying not trying to get into argument/discussion...different strokes different folks.
Believe me Ive done stupider things with my lungs and very fit and healthy for 65year old

This is a great example of how woods and wood dust effects different people so differently. Tonto, seems to me it depends on WHO and HOW they use it!

The same wood (dust with oils or chemicals in it) can KILL one person, from say an allergic reacion, while not affect dozens of others who work with it. Individual sentitivities to our enviuronment (food medicine etc included) vary tremendously.

Those who are most prone to asthma, hay fever or similar seasonal or even food allergies etc should be particulatly careful with wood dust (inhalation or skin eye contact). If you become 'senstised' (ie show an increasingly bad reaction eg wheezing, swelling or rash or welts on skin etc to certain woods, they should be avoided as eventually your reaction may well require urgent medical attention.

Working with old rotton wood (as frewood cutters do) with fungal spores in them, present poarticular hazards. Red Gum with internal rot is a known hazard,

Just saying... coz I want to be helpful!
