    Silver ash for me as well, I clad my whole shed in it and it has stayed light even after 6 months of being at the mercy of the elements, and we know how weird the elements are.

    If you can get it Antarctic Beech is a nice finishing timber too

    If your made of money you can get some holly it's a hardwood , white as it comes , plus the grain isn't that visable. Saddly I think it's only grown in Canada

    Another option is White Mahogany, hard strong timber, colour is dirty white to cream, and doesn't get the distinct growth rings some of other lighter coloured native timbers get.

    thanks for the advice guys, unfortunately ive put this project on hold for a while(i have a habit of doing that) but when i do get around to finishing it ill let you know what i use
