    Default WHITE BOX Burl

Cut up some nice dry White Box burl yesterday ... (I liked what I saw)
some blocks and a few pen banks were the result .... examples below. Larger blocks were coated, even though they were dry

White box, so you used a water jet to cut it?

Turns beautifully, if you like sharpening your expensive high end turning tools every 2 minutes

Hahaha ... no, my WC (Tungsten carbide tipped TCT) bandsaw blade handled it OK.
But you are right, it like most of the eucalypt box woods, is VERY hard but wood is worth it IMO.

Ok Ian, can hold it but you have been warned ... although it "turns beautifully" (if it makes it to your lathe) you may not like "sharpening your expensive high end turning tools every 2 minutes" You have to work quickly in the 2 mins between sharpening I guess.

PS: Its not for sale yet but its on hold for you if and when it is for sale.
