    Default What wood is this?

My parents bought this "paperweight" at the Kruger park about 16 years ago and I've always wondered what type of wood it is.
    Any ideas?

    Question

Buggered if I know! Not up on my RSA timbers for some reason.

The only thing I can think of is Makore because of the colour, but that's a long shot.

    Id back it for Tamboti.
If not, I would refer to it as Wog Wood, that covers all unknown timbers.
