Toowoomba Opportunities - KBH Enterprises
I am generally in the Woodturning part of this forum for myself, but scrolling down the forum - I noticed this component about woodworkers with disabilities. This particular spiked my interest, not because I myself have a disability, but I manage a Timber Workshop in Toowoomba called KBH Enterprises that employs 21 people with disabilities (mostly significant intellectual disabilities) in a timber manufacturing and restoration workshop.
Therefore, my main reason for posting in here is to question whether there are any other woodworkers with disabilities in the Toowoomba Region that might be interested in coming down to KBH to view the workshop and the work that we do and also to see if anybody might be looking for any volunteer opportunities to pass on your skills within the woodworking arena.
I know that many of our young guys love to learn new wood working skills and we are always keen to have volunteers (of any ability) within our workplace teaching our employees new skills and helping them within their supported employee roles.
Anyway - it's just a shot in the dark - but as a new member to this online community, I am happy to talk with anyone that might be interested.
Feel free to check out our website - www.kbhenterprises.com.au

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the review and for following up on our Facebook page - it truly is a great establishment and the guys do some amazing work. We have put in a lot of work over the last 12 months to really develop the place and make it more open to the local community - for people of all abilities.
I will take your advice and throw it in the announcements section as well and see what comes of that.
Thanks for the support.
Paul
