    Default 184mm saw in Triton 2000 WC

    I am thinking of buying a Triton 2000 Work Center second hand but whilst I note that the spec allows for 184mm saws the instructional video only shows the larger Triton saw unit,

    I have a Bosch Professional 184mm circular saw which I like very much but I am concerned that it may not suit the 2000.

    Will it be easy to fit with the attachments (saw locator clamps etc) provided by Triton?

    Any advice would be appreciated..

    By the way I used to have a Triton Mk3 and I understand how to fit my saw to that model - it just seems that the clamping system on the 2000 has changed somewhat

    Your Bosch will fit. The old cast alloy saw carriage of the MKIII was replaced with a pressed steel one on the 2000 series, this along with a different clamping method allows a wide range of saws to fit. The carriage is in two parts that is adjustable for overall length, and in the assembly manual it shows the fitting of a Makita 5806B 185mm saw.

    Default Mk 3 as to 2000

    Gidday mate;
    I have owned a Mk 3 triton table now for nearly 19 years, and over the years I have adapted to fit and work, extras from the 2000 model table. There are several things that are different, simply to get you to buy the newer table and virtually start all over again. But, and i stress the word but. I have the sliding table from the 2000 which works quite well. A little thing i found was the thickness of the square runners, i filed them down and use wax to allow smoother running. I also adapted a normal vacuum cleam to suck up the saw-dust and that also works quite well, no more mess.

    In general, if you buy any new kit from the 2000, take a great look at it and adapt it to suit the Mk 3. Here in Maryborough, Queensland, Bunnings have a variety of kits available for the newer triton work centre, but you are now black mailed into buying the tritin swa, router ect ect. This i cant afford and like you i use a rybobi and makita 184 mm power saw, tho with a filing here and there it works. The only thing i cant seem to keep clear are the inch - mm rulers on the bencg, so i bought a cheap engraver and engraved them, it works lol and all is well.
    Over the years i have taught myself and now have rebuilt my kitch for the wife, made countless cupboards and such and now am half way through a 3 metre wide tv unit my way.

    SO in short, go to your nearest triton outlet, hold the part you feel will fit, then adapt it. You will save a small fortune.

    Hope i havent bored you

    See ya
