Default Blower Blade for TPT15 Thicknesse

Hi guys, picked up a 'new' TPT15 thicknesser recently and tried it today, what a great machine. However within 2 hours the Blower blade that suck and pushes all the saw shavings out the back had stripped it's blades, please see photo below. I have no idea what would have caused this as I was only playing with Hoop Pine.

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to get spare parts / a new one?

    Cheers,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that unit really is only fit for landfill. I've heard from a couple of owners - both have had failures - the impellor blows up, or the drive system for the feed rollers tears itself apart (I mean reallly tears the guts of the the machine - and is not repairable)

Sears Craftsman in the USA sold the unit, as well as Carbatec here in Aus. I'm not sure that they still do, but you could try them for parts.

Here is a link on Ebay USA for one up for sale - it has the Sears model number you will need to find the bits you need:

What caused it? Recycled plastic used in the manufacture and no radius in the corners of the blades where it attaches to the fan body. I blew a number of these fans doing the same as you - light passes with pine. Even had one go when nothing was being planed (soon after starting the machine).

Thanks guys, not sure what caused it but if it happens again I will have one manufactured from Aluminium.

I checked the one on Ebay US at $300 US plus major postage it's not worth it, but thanks for the ideas.

    Yeah,
I lost one within a month or two - but i was working with hardwood. As Stu said they had a design fault. I actually got a replacement from triton before teh fall. Replaced no charge

Mine has just busted too....exactly the same! If I had known Triton was manufactured in China I would never have bought the damn thing. Very disappointing!

Corders, If you come up with a solution or a replacement part would you be able to publish here?
