Triton spares availability
Hi John,
Regarding spares, due to events that transpired before we took on the agency for Triton, we cannot guarantee availability of replacement parts for older Triton models. If you need to source any of these parts, by all means contact us and ask (phone your nearest Carba-Tec store or email us at [email protected]) and we will try to source it if possible, but we're limited in some cases by lack of availability where they're just not being made anymore.
We will supply spares for all Triton items in the range that we'll be stocking.Last edited by Carba-Tec; 22nd January 2010 at 11:44 PM. Reason: added original quote in to clarify reason for post

I use at my local hard ware shop. It can be $5.00-$10.00 more expencive. However, the Guy and his lady wife are conversant with the requirements of hardware and will help should you require it.
On the other hand; you have to work with the interesting collection of people employed by Bunnings. My local Bunnings has two, noticably older people, who know what is going on.. The shopping public have caught onto this and the chance of a consultation with one of the two is remote.
You are now subjected to the remaining staff:
No interest, young boys, porly trained who just want to get out of the place at shift end and spend there time looking down their noses hoping that they will not be asked a question;
No hope, young girls looking for a partener and what is hardware?
Centrelink sent me here and they gave me a job, no idea what I am supposed to do;

I haven't but a search of this site will yield several threads with reoccurring problems.
The gears for the up down adjustment were weak, possibly other things. I use mine carefully. My tra lives in the table, has the spring removed and I support it with one hand while adjusting up and down with the other. The mof is used freehand, and I have my old origional ozito still going strong.
If I could buy a hitachi with micro adjust I'd probably do that. Then again I'd consider a fixed base router and a lift. Depends on your situation.I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.

Yeah, FWIW the local PT supplier has a Bosch GOF1300 with a green case; u won't find it on the B. website. I have an earlier one from John S with a blue case and it's a good unit.

Carbatec Focus catalog arrived in today's mail and says that they are now taling pre-orders for the router and circular saw.
Looks like the E-bay market for overpriced triton routers is about to dry up.

I received my catalogue last week and was reviewing the TRA001B page. It lists sleeve reducer for 1/4" I checked the website for TRA001B and it also lists a reducer rather than a separate collet for 1/4"
Edit - also neither the catalogue or website lists above table depth adjustment either...
Unless someone can tell me its a typo (bugger for the catalogue!)
I already have a TRA001 from before triton wen't belly up, which is still going ok after a visit to the tool doctor (another thread somewhere on this!), so it was purely out of interest that I checked up on this. It kind of sounds like either carbatec completely screwed up their catalogue and website details or the TRA001B is no different to the TRA001!
Cheers

Pellcorp,
Sorry for the confusion....we try our hardest, but alas....
The addition of both the Height Winder Handle, and the dedicated 1/2" & 1/4" collets was a late one. The catalogue was sent off to the printer late last year, and the final spec was decided very early in January. We had time to change the part number on the router, but not to add new pictures or detail etc.
The website will be rectified ASAP to reflect the change...thanks for that!

Well, I'm just glad that parts will be available from SOMEWHERE! Even though shipping costs will make it expensive for me in Africa, it would still be cheaper than replacing all my Triton stuff..!
Thank you!

Ditto - I was at the Auburn store yesterday, and was told that Triton gear had shipped to them, but was still on the dock....probably still a couple of weeks away.
Just as annoyingly, they don't seem to have any stock of many "new items" in the latest catalogue. I went in with a list of 6 or 7 bits and pieces, of which they only had one in stock....
Do Carbatec have a facility to place an online order for pickup (not interested in paying freight costs), then they ping you an email when the order is complete and all the items are ready to collect? I seem to be making lots of trips there and never finding the stuff I'm after.
