The protractor has its own place on the end of the stand.

So rather than throwing out the baby with the bath water, it seems that the nylon ring inserts would be the main culprit for the flex. Does anyone make alumium ring inserts that would fit the Triton router plate?

My issue is how to remove the two locking fingers at the end of the table so that I can attach it flat on the carriage frame. You see, I've decided to build a carriage for the router table to sit on the maxi extension rails next to my Mk3 saw bench. Sure I could just swap it over with the Mk 3 saw table, but I would like to be able to go through my processes smoothly without having to constantly change table tops and potentially disturb the accuracy of the saw bench. And yes I have a small workshop so an easily stowed setup is useful - hence I thought I'd try not to add another dedicated tool stand. The rectangular carriage is made from aluminium square section with 50mm pipe section attached beneath as feet to sit on the extension rails. I want to screw or bolt the carriage to the RTA300's front and rear square tubes, but this is where the front has the locking fingers attached.

my recollection is that the red locking levers are held on with pop rivets, which can be drilled out.

Hi Chrism3 – Many thanks! You were correct - they are held on by pop rivets. Now drilled out and problem solved. I'll post some pics of my solution when I have the whole thing together.

    Cheers - Jerry
