Default How to disassemble the handle of the router

I just bought a CMT-Triton router after selling the UK TRA, the handle where the winder is a little loose and unlocking it for free plunge results in a free plunge, but I can hear the "teeth" of the pinion touching the rack.
The whole handle is a little loose. I was wondering if with a little "maintenance" I could simply tighten it.
But while the other handle is "easy" to disassemble... ho do I proceed with this? Should I remove the orange "plunge mode selector"? How?
Will I find any screw or nut to tighten inside?
    Thanks,
    Alberto

rayintheuk did a pretty good article on disassembly and reassembly. I'll try and find a link to it for you and post it here.

Edit: Here you go, copied direct from one of rayintheuk's posts:

"The TRA router page is here and the MOF001 router page is here."

Thank you, I made I search but couldn't find anything... my fault for sure. That would be helpful.

Thanks... Groggy! I thought it was MUCH more straightforward!
Thanks also to you DJ, sure I had missed the edit, but most of all thanks to Ray, impressive work, I saved the page.

Just one question though, is there some play in the winding handle of your routers (who owns it of course!)?

No play in either of my routers. The winding mechanism is a cog, directly contacting the rack on the RH plunge post:

In this picture, the clutch is disengaged, allowing the cog to freewheel up and down the rack when in free plunge mode.

Here, the clutch is engaged, allowing the operator to wind the housing up or down the plunge posts.

If there is any play, it can only come from a sloppy clutch (unlikely if brand new, but not impossible, I suppose), or interference from the post bushing being driven too far into the post and fouling the cog (I've only ever heard of this once). HTH

Thanks... I still have the Triton that was about to fly away (the UK model that I sold) and I will give it a try... since mine is new I will contact the seller if there is a substantial difference.

Just a thought - the new "CMT" model may now have the metal cogwheel, as in the MOF001. If it has the fine adjuster, I'd say that's probably going to be the case. If it does have the metal cog (visible down the plunge spring port, with the cap and spring removed), your disassembly should go along the lines of the MOF001, here.

Ray, that would hav e been a good thing for sure... so I immediately checked... Still made of white plastic. On the other side also the handle of theoriginal Triton had some "play", the "plunge mode selector" was more solid thoug.
    Thanks again
