    Arrow Double Sided Tape

    Hi everyone,

    1. Is the double sided tape that you use to hold down templates etc. the standard clear stationary tape, or is it a heavy duty tape for woodworking.

    2. What is the regular price of the Triton 6.35mm Pro Router Bit set RBA120.

    Thanking you,

    Alan

    Little Boxes,

I used double sided tape this weekend for some routing templates. I got the 3M brand Poster Tape. It was a little costly at $12 for a 3 metre roll but it woked well.

You could also use double sided carpet tape but I must admit I haven't tried it.

I use the 3m double sided tape too (has brown paper on it) I used it to hold the template on the "sit in rocking horse" I am making.... also use it to hold bowls on the lathe when cleaning up the base sometimes. Very good stuff.

Another vote for carpet tape. Good adhesion and cheap as chips (relatively speaking).
    Cheers,

I use carpet tape from Bunnings, located with masking tape in the paint section. Not sure how big the roll is, but probably abt 10m x 38mm wide. Was abt $7 per roll when I bought last December. No doubt available from other retailers as well.

Good morning, and a Happy New Year to all.

    To continue this thread ...

I used 3M carpet tape to hold a template onto the workpiece while edge trimming (using a GMC router on a Triton stand, btw). It did a great job, and the edges are exactly aligned, with no gap between them.

So how do I separate the two now the job's done? I'm shy of using a screwdriver or similar level between the parts, and brute force is going no-where because there's nothing on which to get a grip.

Do I dissolve it in eucalyptus oil or just keep going with brute violence? What other techniques are out there?

    Cheers,

I either twist so them or alternatively depending on size, but most times I can squeeze the two together on one side which normally will give you a small air gap on the opposite side which allows you to put a steel rule in that you can then use to pry it apart.
    Cheers

Bought two rolls of carpet tape from KMart a while ago ,I have used it a couple of times , but yeah its a mongrel to get apart after .
Just got to muscle it for a while till it gives up.
Got an old compressor form a fridge I use for a vacuum pump ,one fine day I'm going to make a vacuum template set-up and give that ago.
Just another project on the list of many.
