Default Drilling Triton winder handle -Help

    Hi all,
I have a router extension wing on my table saw and a Triton TRB001 router attached. Id like to drill a hole for the depth winder handle, but getting this in the correct spot is obviously important and I'm struggling, also its a cast top and I don't want to get it wrong!
The way the router mounts to the table are via 4 'cradle' fingers, but none of these come through the top, so lining up the base screw holes and the winder holes won't work.
Can anyone shed any light on how they have done this to a non triton router table?

    Thanks
    Leith

Try taking of the black plastic base plate after marking the correct position on the plate and then lining it up beneath the table and then marking it's position and drilling from below with a small pilot hole.

Drilling from below may not be possible/accurate due to rough casting or ribs, so here's what I would do:

Firstly, the winding handle needs to be in front of (i.e., your side of) the fence. Turn the router upside down and position it so that the winder is where you need it, so that you can mark the correct orientation of the base plate. Now remove the base plate and trace its shape onto a piece of thin card, with the base uppermost. Mark the winder hole position on the card. Measure the diameter of the base plate and set a pair of compasses to exactly half the amount. You should be able to locate the centre of the circle on the card now. Having done so, drill, cut or punch out a hole in the centre of the card to match a router bit size (¼" for example). Mount the router, insert the appropriate bit, lower the card over the bit, thereby centring it. Mark the winder hole on the table top in the relevant position and drill it, using plenty of lubrication.
