    Default Dust Collection System

The bayonet hose adaptor for connecting the dust bucket to the overhead guard does not lock in properly. It fits in the hole but cannot be turned to lock it in. The lugs in the adaptor appear to be to thick and I am considering filing them down. Wondering if any one else has had this problem and sovled it.

Is it a design or manufacturing fault?

Have you tried turning it to the left?

Thanks Chrisma, might sound silly but I din't try this. Was trying to turn it clockwise and tonight will try anti clockwise ie left.

Tried both clockwise and anti clockwise and will still not turn and lock in.

I should have checked myself before suggesting the left hand turn!
I have recently acquired two of these setups, but not yet installed them. Both of them turn to the right OK, although one is a little tighter than the other - I suspect because it has been used more.
I can't see how they wouldn't fit, perhaps you have to be a bit firmer.

Mine never does a fill locking turn.
It only turns a couple of degrees before jamming on the lugs.
However, this is enough to lock the bayonet in place, and I have used it like this for years and years.

Filed about 2mm of the legs on the fitting and it now fits and locks perfectly

It would appear to be manufacturing fault

    Thanks for your help guys

Glad it has worked out OK, and even more glad the bits you ordered from the UK were useful

    Cheers,
