I only got my dust bag late last year and there were no rods with it. It was from Bunnings too so i doubt it would have been old stock. I assume they turn it over fairly regularly. Wonder if Triton will supply some.

I bought my dust bag well after the height winder kit came out and my dust bag didn't have the green rods in it, the problem is that there is so much old stock out there with dealers and they don't even know what is going on.
I think Triton shoud issue technical bulletins making distributors aware of these issues.
The same happened when I bought my Router table the dealer had old stock and I got sold the old style fence and quick release mounting plate and was told tough by Triton if the dealers have old stock.
I purchased the sliding extension table locally only to learn a week later the maxi extension table had been released. I really would have appreciated the extra length after cutting up several full sheets of MDF lately.
Plus I just forked out $80 NZ for the new router support plate upgrade and fence upgrade kits. I really wasn't happy with the previous support plate and the plastic threaded end clamps. I never felt secure that my router was supported satisfactorily with that arrangement.

The bag now comes with pockets to slide (supplied) flat rods (actually, they are curved across their width to resist bending), which are designed to fully support the bag as the height winder is lowered.

The "upgrade" of the green rods seems to be a very low key affair. Perhaps it will be announced when all the old stock has been cleared at full price
Personally I like my Triton but I am mildly jaded at the number of "upgrades". Perhaps some of these things could be identified a bit earlier in development, rather than once everyone has bought one. [No flames please, I am only mildly jaded with Triton]

About mid 2003 I contacted Triton about the dust problem, their answer
Clean your bag and send it to us and we will arrange for the 'upgrade' (green metal strips) at no cost, other than my postage to send. In due course the bag was returned complete with metal strips (top of the bag that is0. Not sure that the solution was a complete one but better.

I had a look in Bunnies yesterday and the current bags for sale are in the same square box I got mine in. That means no strips included. Now I'm really puzzled...........what are these things ?????????? and could somebody post a picture for us.

Gumby,I think this image may be what you are looking for. The long bars are two pieces joined by a small bolt and are creased for strength. This means they would easily fit in the square box. These three bars slide into pockets around the opening for the saw blade and rest on the height winder bar on one end and the end of the saw chassis on the other thus keeping the bag in close proximity to the table top. Fortunately when I first fitted the dust bag, Wife filed them under Triton in the filing cabinet so that now when I installed the new Triton saw and height winder this weekend, and went looking for them she knew just where they were.

The short one that goes across the two long ones is flat because it only spans a short distance.

hmmmm. Very interesting . I certainly didn't get anything like that on mine. I've checked the bag and there are pockets there for something. Judging from your post, these came with the bag. Wonder why they didn't come with mine.......hmmm. Call to triton tomorrow........also need to explain to them that I was cleaning the table top with a bit of turps on a rag and forgot to take off the fence. Result is I've rubbed some of the scale markings off !!!!!!!

Yes Gumby the metal strips came with the bag and the assembly instructions also showed how to assemble and insert the strips for people who had a height winder or skip these three steps if you didn't have a height winder. Now I need to either add more velcro to the removable bag or replace it with the removable paint tin on blocks as others have suggested. Damn bag falls off at the slightest movement.

Yeah,
I'm sure I had suggested years ago that they need a pull string instead of the velcro.
Perhaps someone can come up with a way to insert as draw sting into the top of the bag.
Triton have always always treated me well regarding upgrades and spare parts.
If they don't trade me my old bits for updated ones then the spare parts charge in minimal if not uterly acceptable.
I've also bought all the parts for attemptig to upgrade my dust bucket to attach directly to my table saw when mounted in the workcentre but the clearance was wrong for the height winder. Doh!
I'm sure I saw a thread where someone had replace the bottom of the bag and the metal ring with a pipe to the dust bucket.
