    Default Extension Table

I spent the weekend trying to juggle a 2400 x 1200 sheet of MDF, using both hands, both feet, the SWMBO's hands, and the young apprentice, my 12 YO son.. I would have used the dog to operate the switch, but I dont have one..!

So I ventured off to Bunnyworld to check out the Mini and Maxi extensions..

Wow.. They only had the Mini, but even that was $275.00, hate to see what the Maxi was..? Needless to say the plastic stayed in the wallet for the time being..(In fact a rep from Hills was there at the time, and even he commented that they were a tad over priced..?)

I spent some time perusing the forum earlier, and there are lots of posts on this, but I didn't notice if anyone had contemplated, or succeded in making their own..?

    Any feedback would be great...

well, probably no help to you, but I just bought the mini sliding table for $229.

Still pretty damn expensive I agree, but cheaper than what you seem to be getting charged.

Im in WA, so I don't see why we have it cheaper than you...

    Hi Mike,

As you've probably already seen in the posts you searched, I haven't changed to crosscut mode ever since I bought the extn table (mini). It's one of those extras which you can't do without once you've got one. I haven't seen any home made substitutes and I'd venture to say that to get them accurate, easily detachable and easily stored away would be pretty hard to do.

Get that card out again and go for it...........life is short enough as it is.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

    Thanks Guys..

Ok, I'll admit defeat and whip it out.... the plastic that is....

I think the price on the box in Bunnyworld must have been wrong. A quick check on the "Just Tools" site http://www.justtools.com.au/category311_1.htm who advertise their pricing shows the mini at $235 and the maxi at $265..

I'll check my local bunny hutch at Gosford and check..

    Cheers,

    Mike

    G'day,
nothing like the sight of a defeated man handing over the money (plastic).

You might want to ring Mitre 10 in Mona Vale, they had the maxi for $250, price match at Bunnies and its yours for $225.

Go to Bunnings, take a printout of the ad with you and get them to price match with the 10 % ( 15 % in Victoria ) discount.

    Thanks Guys..

    Slavo,
    I'll be calling Mitre 10..!

    Sturdee,
I did just that when I bought the WC and Router Table. They didn't like it and tried to state that they did not accept Internet as 'Advertising'. I kicked up a stink and said if the web isn't advertisign, what is..? and besides, their T's and C's didn't mention not accepting internet advertising..

    Guess who won... Yours truley..!

    Make the purchase!
I did last week and picked up the maxi. I then spent the weekend making cabinets to tidy up the garage and it was fantastic. The cuts came out perfectly square, and I'm not even using the Triton saw!
Much like you, I struggled with the large sheets, but it was soooo much easier with the maxi sliding table, even in fixed mode to cut the large 2400x1200 3mm mdf sheet that was flexing all over the place, and even they came out square!
