Just finished mini cyclone mod
I just finished the mini cyclone mod and as many of you know it works great. I did some trials and I get no dust in the VC bag what so ever.
My wife is very envious and I think I'm going to have to keep my eye on it. If I put wheels on I'm sure it will go missing.
I could not find all the fittings at Bunnies as per the plans but used plastic electrical pipe and off cuts from some VC tools. This avoided the need for the triton fittings also. I'm now making adaptors to fit onto other tools to collect the dust.Power corrupts, absolute power means we can run a hell of alot of power tools

I'll go and take some as soon as possible and post. Otherwise I used the link shown by jmk89 for the basic construction. I could not get any larger than 22 cm funnel (26 cm is best) around where I live but it works fine. I spent a long time at Bunnies trying to fit together pipe and joiners and bends so they would fit the standard triton suppied hose ends. In the end I went to the dump recycle shop and found some vacuum cleaner tools I could chop up and use as pipe joiners with the electricl pipe. Some filing was required to get a good fit at times. Total cost about$15.

thanks for thses photos, superbunny, much appreciated.
A couple of questions - did the centre pipe go all the way down into the cone, and how did you smooth the join of the top of the cone and the wall of the bucket? It looks pretty neat
kind regards,
Jill

Hi JillB
The centre pipe from the inside of the lid is a toal length of 300 mm, and finishes about 50mm above the cone. Using sealent I just used my finger and the following day trimed with a stanley knife to help get the cone and entry edge neat. To place the complete cone assembly inside the bucket I put sealent on the outer edges then placed it inside. After I used more sealent with my finger to get a good seal and left it over night.
Regards

What diameter hoses did you use, please, Superbunny? tehy look a bit bigger than the 32mm standard vacuum cleaner hose
I like the curved inlet pipe - did you make that - I could not find it at Bunnies

It's hard to get a large enough funnel, but I eventually sourced one at 300mm from http://www.winequip.com.au/
You can then trim that down to size. Their funnels have a groove partway down for fitting a strainer, but I just bogged that up.

Hi JillB
The curved pipe I found in the electrical section. It's a 90 degree 25mm bend. That is it's 25mm inside and 32mm outside.
The hoses I used is the same size as the bend found in the electrical section and can be purchased by the metre. Get a section with the end joiner attached so you can use it with the outside hose connections.
The hose connections on the top of the lid that connect to the electrical pipe and onto the vacuum hoses externally are 36mm inside diameter. As I said before I cut off the straight bits off some vacuum cleaner tools. I use the brush and the crevise tools that are enclosed inside a compartment in most vacuum cleaners. They also fitted nicely into the lid top also. As I said I got them from the dump shop but I had to find what would fit with a little filling.
Hope this helps
