Parts for a GMC thicknesser
Hi all,
I'm after a new handle for my GMC thicknesser. Just wondering if anyone could please tell me where I can buy GMC parts in Aus at the moment?
Thanks heaps

Good luck finding that!
Mind you, there are many many identical machines with different names; Ozito, Rok, Ryobi, etc. You might be better off looking for a different brand.
Or loctite the handle screw into the shaft and use an allan key as the handle maybe?

Try GPT Tools, Hume HWY, Campbellfield, Vic. They got all stock when GMC went under but by now they may not any have left.

Thanks for the replies.
I unfortunately live in NSW.
Any ideas how I could fabricate a handle for it? I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Your PDF opens as a black spot?

I much prefer the handle on the Carbatec 15" CTJ-680 one myself. In fact the whole machine is a lot better.
I started out with the GMC one and all it did was identify the need for a real one.
Dont waste time on it. The rest of the machine is probably not far behind the handle in packing it in.
Cheers

Hi,
I attached the PDF file to try and show the shape of the turn buckle I guess you'd call it. It's a circle with a flat part.... I tried to round out a socket and leave a flat piece but it didn't work too well.
I'm open to ideas though if someone has had to do something similar in the past.
Thanks
Geoff

bin there, dun that.
A similar thing happened to me a year or so ago.
I bought a replacement handle from Hare and Forbes (Machineryhouse).
Their entry level thicknesser was very much like the GMC.

I do recall that I had to file a bit off the flat on the spigot to get it to fit.Last edited by jw2170; 30th November 2013 at 06:04 PM. Reason: Add photos
