Interesting, local bunnies here has afairly extensive GMC range. In fact they seem to have more GMC and Ozito than anything else.

Dave, I think Don was just referring to the thicknesser, not all GMC products.
Sorry for the confusion.Greatest Movie Quote Ever: "Its good to be the king!"____________________________

I don;t think them not stocking the GMC thincknesser would be an issue for us. I think just about everyone on the forum bought one.

It is correct as far as I know. GMC as a product range will be in Bunnings for a long time yet, but the GMC thicknesser will not be in Bunnings, because GMC have stopped production of that model.
They might release a new version, although I'd seriously doubt it with 2 Triton models due to hit the market shortly. Neither will be in the sub $400 category however, so if you can snatch one of the last $199 GMC specials, I would go for it. On the other hand, if you save your pennies, the larger of the 2 new Triton models also uses moulding blades, which is pretty cool. (And is 15")

This talk of the GMC thicknesser being discontinued, leads to the question:
How will GMC honour the 2 year warranty if anything goes wrong??

Les,
GMC are discontinuing them as a stock line, but they have never made them. They are actually made by Ryobi, who are still making them ~ therefore parts will be available for warranty claims.Have a nice day - Cheers

October - Well I'd love to think so - in time for the WWW Show, but I'm not going to put any money on it one way or the other. Be cool if it was.
Think the smaller one is going to be in the $700 ballpark, and the larger in the $1000 vicinity, but I cannot remember for the life of me where these numbers came from in my head."Clear, Ease Springs"

GMC are not being deleted from Bunnings, quite the contrary they are going stronger than ever!!
The TP2000 is deleted now but we are going to do another Thicknesser in the GMC range, release date TBA.
The Triton thicknessers will probably only be available through Bunnings special orders.
The pricing that Stuart mentioned is pretty close to the mark, give or take 1 or $200.

As with any product that no longer has a direct replacement, GMC will offer any other product to the same value of retail money back.
The fact that there are new Triton models coming has nothing to do with the GMC model currently not being available, nor does it in the future. The brands are marketed completely seperate.
Current factory issues and higher manufacturing costs have meant we need to shop elsewhere
