Guide bushes?
I'm currently making my own router table (the instructions come from Danny Proulx's excellent book 'Building Woodshop Workstations), and have purchased a JessEm Rout-R-Lift which will eventually hold my TRA001 Triton router.
As per instructions I need to cut through the bottom of my 35mm MDF thick table top using strips of MDF as a template and a Bushing Guide that is 1/2" thick. Is it possible to obtain a bushing guide this thick that will fit my router?
The table top is then turned over and a rebate is cut using a slot cutter that leaves a 1/2" rebate. The router plate will then sit nice and flush with the table top.

Clogger,
I believe that they need you to use a 1/2" diameter router template guide. These are Triton Template guides which fit the TRA001 and are available at Bunnings. You'll have to check the price but you can also get them in Perth at Walkers Hardware for about $55.00. Try this link

Clogger, you might find it easier to use the Woodpecker plate as a template to make the MDF template. Then use a template-following bit like a 10-15mm dado bit that has the guide roller above the cutter (i.e. closest to the router collet). I can PM you how to do that.

nothing is so easy to do as when you figure out the impossible.

Clogger, there are various ways of cutting the hole & rebate the lip for your router plate, depending on what tools & accessories you have.
I wouldn't be buying anything extra just to do this job, you can do the job fine using your router with a straight bit, and strips of timber, MDF, or whatever to guide the cut.
Don't want to swamp you too much with ideas unless needed, do you have the 1/2" diameter template guide as required in your instructions? This could have come with your router when purchased.
More info maybe.

Thanks for the posts
Yea, with a bit of lateral thinking I did as suggested and just used a bit of MDF as a guide, so simple really!!
However, a major problem developed.
I discovered as I was happily gradually whittling the wood away with my slot cutter that the collet/cutter combination etc etc was not centered with the long axis of my router! The router is only 5 months old and hardly used.
I've just been to a Triton nominated repair shop in Perth where the man there was left scracthing his head, saying he's not come across this problem before and couldn't understand how this could have happened.
looking up at the router bit within the collet you would be able to see its about 2-3mm off center from the dead center longitudinal axis. Its as if the the main frame assembly has become distorted. The bit isn't damaged in any way. And no I havn't dropped the router.
I've left the router with the shop and was told they will get back to me soon.
