Height Winder Installation Mk3
Have just fitted a new Saw Slide Chassis and Height Winder to my Mark3 and encountered a couple of problems. With the saw (Makita 9 1/4) lined up with the fence set at zero, the Winder hole is off to one side of the slot. Also I cannot release the saw guard without it fouling the Saw Chassis. If I move the saw laterally to allow the guard to close, it will no longer touch the fence at zero. All help appreciated.

Ian,
I also have a MK3 workcentre with the upgraded sliding saw chassis and the height winder and a Makita 9 1/4 saw but with the Triton 80 tooth saw blade.
After reading your post I had a look at mine and with the saw blade against the fence at zero the winder opening is slightly ofcentre in the protractor slot but this does not stop it being used properly.
I don't know about releasing the saw guard as I have not released the guard or removed the saw or changed my workcentre from the table saw mode since I got them well over 10 years ago. It always stays in the workcentre as I have another saw for ordinary hand use.
Regards,
Peter.

Ian...
what Sturdee is saying - and what Triton say is that you do not want your guard to retract back, it should be held back at all times (except if you ever remove it from the WC2000). (See Pg.4 of the Assy and Operating Manual)
Some saws (including some Triton saws) just so happen to get held back by the sliding chassis.
I say some Triton saws, because I have fitted 2 saws in 2 WC2000, and only one actually held back. The other got the twisted wire modification !!

Height Winder Installation Mk3
Thanks Peter and Dohboy. I have had the Triton / Makita combination for around 4 years now and have always been in the habit of releasing the Saw Guard at the end of the day. Essentially to stop the guard spring from becoming stretched. But, like you, I have never had cause to remove the Makita from the Triton, I too have another saw I can use. I suppose I will just have to get out of the habit, or raise the saw height ot get the necessary clearance.
Thanks for your timely response. This is my first outing on this Bulletin Board and I am impressed!
