Default Holding a small lath down on WC without losing fingers

I'm planning on making a 3 x 3 groove along the length of a long 32 x 10mm lath. I could use the router table but 3mm being the kerf of my saw blade it would be easiest to just use that (particularly since I have the WC all set up but the router table not).

I'll have to take the overhead guard off, obviously. I can hold use the finger fitted to the protractor to hold the lath against the fence. I can use the push stick to move the lath through. However, what do I used to hold the lath down onto the blade? In my experience, particularly bendy light stock tends to ride up off the blade. But I don't much fancy having my hands near an unguarded blade with only a very small workpiece in the way, applying pressure downward in the vicinity of the blade.

Is there a simple hold down jig anyone knows of (that could perhaps be fitted to the fence) to accomplish what I need?

    thanks in anticipation...

Make a timber finger and clamp it to the fence, just in front of the blade.

My home made finger is a piece of 90mmx200mmx12mm thick board with slots cut in it at 6mm gaps to give it a springy effect.
Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.

Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.

How easy is it to clamp things to the fence, given that the back of it is at 45 degrees? Do you just hook one end of the clamp into the slot on the back?
